things they don't tell you...
I'll say what you're thinking on all things family, friends, food, fitness & fashion.
I am going old school with this post (if you can call 1 year ago "old school") to talk about one of my favorite MOM items that I own. I can't stop talking about how awesome my new Schwinn Turismo jogging stroller is.
When I was pregnant and registering for baby items, no one explained the importance of a good stroller. I added the 4-wheel Graco stroller that matched the car seat I had picked out for baby Mads. I had no issues with the car seat as it was easy to use and received good ratings. The stroller on the other hand- well, it is crap. My two biggest complaints are the plastic wheels and the baby strap.
Why are baby straps and wheels so important? Anything that doesn't easily release your baby is a pain in the butt. As moms we spend so much time buckling and unbuckling kids that if it doesn't work quickly, it isn't worth having. Plastic wheels are wobbly- both you and baby will feel the ground. It causes vibrations to travel through the carriage. The rough ride makes it impossible to run with. The positive asset is that it is pretty compact. It folds and unfolds easily so it is great as a traveling stroller. It is perfect for a trip to the mall and not much else.
30 is certainly a milestone birthday. I don't fear this birthday, though. Many of the "adults" I talk to say that their 30's were the best years of their lives. Most people have stopped switching from job to job. Maybe you've bought your own home, or at least a car. Maybe you have started having children, or decided that children aren't for you. Maybe you have travelled to some of the destinations on your bucket list. Maybe you have weeded through the toxic people in your life. Maybe you have had a life-altering experience that changed you forever.
I continue to learn and grow. The universe keeps challenging me and I will try to approach the challenges with grace. At the very least, I am sure I will be able to add another 10 things I have learned by the time I am 40!
