things they don't tell you...
I'll say what you're thinking on all things family, friends, food, fitness & fashion.
The baby is napping and I already effed up the grout for the bathroom floor so I have found myself with a little "free time." I love Black Friday. Not because of all the sales at every shopping venue across America. You won't find me anywhere near a store today. In fact, if I didn't have to work tonight, I probably wouldn't leave my house.
I love Black Friday because it is the day I whip out all of the Christmas decorations. There is something about the sparkly lights, wreathes, and poinsettia that makes me feel all warm and bubbly inside. Black Friday is a holiday for me, a holiday in which I blast Christmas music, drink excessive amounts of coffee, and lace the house in garland and sparkles.
I am that girl that listens to Christmas music non-stop from now until 12pm Christmas night. I can't get enough of it. I love watching holiday movies including Little Women, Love Actually, The Grinch, Elf, Home Alone, The Polar Express and I am looking forward to seeing Arthur Christmas. I am also a sucker for Christmas specials on t.v.
One of my personal favorites is the SNL skit with JT and Jimmy Fallon. What a great duo!
Whelp, it looks like my luck just ran out. Snuggle time with Mads!
Whether you are in your sweats like us or you braved the mall for some Black Friday shopping, I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend. xo.
This week's topic couldn't be less relevant to my life right now. But I decided to be proactive about the lack of relevance. Because, I am not proud of it. Sometimes, owning your weakness is a sign of strength. At least, that's how I am choosing to look at it.
How do I simplify my active living so that I can sustain it? Honestly, I am in a rut that I can't pull myself out of. I feel run down and like I have so many other things to do rather than work out.
We all have excuses as to why we don't do the things we know we should do. My most recent excuses include:
"My knees hurt from T25."
"The baby is needy and sick."
"I don't feel well."
"The house needs to be cleaned."
"It's too cold outside to take the baby and dog for a run."
These are pretty good excuses, right? Ugh, no? I know.
So how do I get out of this rut? Especially when here in New England we are expecting 6-10 inches of snow over the next two days?
I know there are plenty of things I could do. But right now I feel like there is only one piece of motivation that will work... staring at my pre-baby jeans and photos of myself in a bikini before Madeline.
So here it goes... Here is the goal!
Please leave any advice you have below. Clearly I need it right now!!!
How do you full-time working moms handle all of your responsibilities and still have time to take care of your body? Not only take care but lose the baby weight?
