I am not the baker in my family. Baking is too precise for me. I find cooking easier since it is done by taste- a pinch of this a handful of that My mom and sister on the other hand, oh they can bake! Salted caramel brownies?! Ummm, yes, please! Chocolate berry torte?! Yep, anytime.
I must admit, that despite my lack of enthusiasm for baking, I do a pretty darn good muffin! Hubs often requests my banana muffins which is really just a knock-off of Martha Stewart's recipe with Greek Yogurt substituted for sour cream.
Today I am proud to announce a muffin recipe I can call my own. With fresh berries in the house and plenty of butter, I set out to make a sweet breakfast treat. Without further ado, here are my Saturday Morning Berry Muffins! Click the image for the recipe.
I am not a fan of store bought muffins. Between the astronomical number of calories and the amount of sugar, they just aren't worth it. There really isn't much of a difference between muffins and cupcakes at that point! When making muffins at home, I can make smart substitutions and also control portion size.
I love muffins on weekend mornings. Paired with PJ's and coffee they can't be beat.
